We've been at this for over 100 years.

Four generations of Burtka’s have been making wines in this country for the enjoyment of their friends and families. John + Denise Burtka decided to turn this passion into career by creating Cherry Creek Winery, a boutique winery using old world hand crafting from their European roots. Nestled in the Irish Hills, the Burtka’s have established a new destination for wine lovers in Michigan.

We take our grapes very seriously.

Although we experience more extreme winters than other vineyards, our warm summer days and cool nights are ideal for ripening premium wine grapes. Trust us, just try our big reds + fruity whites.

Having multiple vineyards allows us to grow a larger variety of wine grapes: our oldest vineyard consists of 500 Pinot Noir 777 clones on a gentle south-facing slope, our Vidal Blanc vineyard is harvested for Ice Wiens, and our Old Schoolhouse vineyard consists of Cabernet Franc, Frontenac + Traminette.

We use our own grapes whenever possible. But in order to deliver the best possible product, this sometimes calls for other varieties. We strongly believe in supporting our local economy and use only grapes and fruits from other Michigan vineyards.

What's on your mind?

We'd love to meet you!

As much as we can't wait to hear from your, we'd rather meet you in person. Come thirsty. As long as we're open, we'll be pouring.

We're located in the historic Old Schoolhouse. Literally, she's old. She's was built in 1870.
